We love this device which both stops the anti-slamming and also completely assists in helping the door closer to close the door for the rental property - Our gates always never seemed to close all the way but now does We found that the 1400 device with the regular force is best for seniors who would have difficulty with the other stronger forces; Only con is that sometimes the arm will close and prevent the door from closing but you just have to retract the arm again manually.

I just love this door check - aka anti-door slammer! At our rental property, there is constant slamming of the doors which will bother the other tenants. This device completely stops the slamming noise. Its made very well (German made) and very heavy metal. It also helps close the gates on the property since even though we have door closers - the door closer somehow does not completely shut the gates. So with this device - the gates will close completely. The only down side of this device - is that once in a while, the arm will get in the closed position - thus stopping the door from completely closing - so you have to retract the arm into the open position. But when you want to leave the door ajar - then the arm can be retracted into the closed position and it will stop the door from closing. The 1400 model with the regular force the best - the other strong force was too strong for the seniors who could not open the gate.
